A person always wants something new and usually thinks about changing an apartment, work, or hobby. The same goes for the car. No matter how many years your favorite vehicle has served you, the question of buying a new car arises sooner or later.
Over time, you will start to think about how to sell your junk car for cash. However, the sale of even a junk car should be approached with all responsibility. In this article, we gathered four important tips that will help sell your car faster.
1. Body appearance
Most buyers appreciate the appearance of the car first of all. If your car was not involved in an accident, then this is good for both of you. However, you should do anything with the body except washing and coating with wax or polish.
If there are minor dents, scratches, or parking marks on the bodywork, don't try to remove them. It is better to bargain and lower the price a little. It will be more useful than you will repaint some elements of the body. You should understand that the buyer will probably notice repaired areas and will think that the car was repainted because of severe damage.
The same applies to the windshield. It's okay if there is a small crack that doesn’t interfere with the view. In this case, there is no reason for changing the glass.
Another thing is when the car has been in an accident and there are damaged elements. You can either repair the car or sell it as it is, lowering the price. However, you should understand that it is nor easy to quickly sell a damaged car. If you had to do some repairs, then it is better to honestly tell the buyer about it.
2. Car interior
The first step you need to do is remove all unnecessary things like key rings, toys, stickers, and other things. The second step is the cleaning of the interior. If your finances allow, it is better to clean the salon at the car wash. However, you can do everything yourself. Remove trash, shake out ashtrays (if you smoke), vacuum and wash rugs, and wash glass and mirrors. You should also clean the trunk.
You can hang an air fragrance in the cabin but you have to be careful with their odors. The reality is that some of them have a rather sharp odor. It is better to avoid strong fragrances because the buyer can think that you are trying to hide something behind the smell.
3. Engine and suspension
It is important to leave everything as it is under the hood. Moreover, you don't even need to change the oil and other liquids since the next car owner will do this after purchasing a car. Moreover, it is not worth polishing and cleaning everything too thoroughly. Such sterility can make the buyer think that you try to hide something.
If something doesn't work, it's better to say the truth because deception will still be revealed when the buyer will make a diagnosis. As for the suspension, you should always keep it in good condition. Check if the camber is in order. Pay attention to the condition of the tires. By the way, if you have two sets of tires (winter and summer) this can be an added bonus to the car’s price.
4. Car documents
It would be perfect if you (and the previous car owner) have a service book. This will be a big advantage as the buyer will be able to see the entire history of the car's service. Some car owners even carefully store checks for auto parts, repairs, and even fuel.
