Fashion week has set the tone for the future makeup trends of Spring and Summer. The Summer of 2016 was the season of the 90s, and 2017 is all about the 80s so expect to see lots of sparkle, bold colours and big hair.
Sparkles
If you’re obsessed with Body Glitter, then you are going to love the makeup trends set for Spring and Summer 2017! Models were spotted at Fashion Week with under eyes slathered in silver sparkles and fabulous designers, such as the likes of Fendi and Giambra, teamed glittery makeup with their designs. Across the runway, there were lots of models who sported the full glittery lips look, with graphic and edgy eyeliner to create a fierce 80s feel. Glitter is breaking out of its festival barriers and is spilling into the streets, so If you want to get the latest look, then be sure to welcome pots of sparkle into your life and into your makeup bags.
Bright eyes
This year we are turning our backs on romantic pinks and sweet pastel colours to make way for a bolder and brighter future. The runway was filled with models sporting “disco eyes” with a rainbow of colours. By Summer our eyeshadow palettes should be filled with oranges, purples, blues and greens, the more vibrant the better. Brightly coloured shadows are teaming up with the graphic eyeliner look to create a bold and dreamy combo. Get practising your wings and flicks, you’re going to need them in 2017!
Dewy complexion
A bronzed and sheeny complexion is going to be sought after this Summer. This dreamy and minimalist look really gives a youthful and beautiful glow that will have people falling head over heels for you. Designers at Fashion Week such as Blumarine, Ellie Saab and Versace favoured this moon-kissed and dewy look. To achieve this absolute makeup goals look, add a light-weight illuminating foundation to your makeup bag and pair with a dreamy highlighter for the perfect glow.
Bold lips
Dark, gothic and full lips are going to be a big makeup trend in 2017. Steering away from the nude and matte lips that won our hearts last Summer, Fashion Week saw designers like DKNY and ACNE styling their models with gothic and grey shades to give a real edge to our pouts in the sunny weather. Welcome metallic, dark and deep lipstick shades into your makeup bag this year and be the envy of all of your friends!
